The urinal is designed with a built-in waste trap. A scented, biodegradable, fully refined vegetable oil, floats on top of the urine in the waste trap.

The oil forms a liquid seal, preventing urine smells from being released into the air. As the urine drains through the holes in the stainless steel cover, it passes through the oil and out of the waste pipe. In effect the waste trap acts as an “S bend”.

Since no water goes down the drain, additional waste water is not generated when treated. The sealing liquid is biodegradable.

	Generally require little maintenance. The absence of a flush valve eliminates valve repair and reduces opportunities for tampering. Additionally, overflow due to clogged drains and vandalism is reduced because large amounts of water are not being flushed.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE - DAILY CLEANING

Like any other type of urinal, the Uridan® water-free urinal should be cleaned daily.

Cleaning a Uridan® water-free urinal is quick and easy because the unique design means there are no inner edges where urine can collect. The use of detergents is not necessary, simply spray Uriclean® onto the urinal and wipe clean with a disposable towel. A complete set of cleaning instructions is provided with every purchase

WILL THE URINAL SMELL IF YOU DON’T USE WATER?

No, it will not smell.
The urinal is designed with smooth surfaces, with no flushing rims where urine can gather. The cleaning process removes any dried urine in the bowl and the sides of the urinal. The smell normally associated with urinals is caused by the combination of water and urine mixing.

No water - no smell!
Also the removal of water removes the environment for which bacteria and viruses need to survive and because there is no flush handle reduces the risk of communicable disease.
